Anthracnose showing up on large fruit. Wet weather and soggy soils caused a spray schedule gap of more than 14 days. |
A hail storm hit Aug. 22 and caused some significant damage. Here you can see the effect on small fruit types. More pictures next page. |
![]() | Powdery Mildew: Some growers are not getting good control. Be sure you are using Bravo plus Bayleton or Bravo plus Benlate to control both species of Powdery Mildew. If you have not applied powdery mildew control within the last 10 days, make a fungicide application this week. |
![]() | Remember, Section 18 for Nova 40W in OH for Powdery Mildew control. |
![]() | If using Nova, continue to include Bravo or maneb every 7-10 days in the spray program to control Anthracnose and other fruit diseases. |
![]() | Cucumber Beetles: In late sumer and as fruit get closer to mature size, beetles can feed on rinds. Scout for beetles and rind damage. MAterials for control are: Sevin XLR, Thiodan, Asana, Ambush or Pounce. Check the label or the OH Vegetable Production Guide for rates and application directions.
